Sac PD Shoots a Man For Video Taping Them

Last week a judge says there is no first amendment right to film the police…. now the Sacramento Police Department is trying to justify shooting Danny Sanchez last Friday.  Sanchez filmed the police when they were arresting a neighbor.  According to reports, Sanchez was a distance away when police saw Sanchez extending his arm and he had an ‘object’ in his hand.  Apparently unable to distinguish between a smart phone and a gun, the police shot Mr. Sanchez.

Apparently the police thought this was sufficient cause to search Mr. Sanchez’s residence even though a spokesman for Sac PD acknowledged Mr. Sanchez is not a suspect if any crime.  Mr. Sanchez is currently recovering from his injuries in a local hospital.
